The Chief Guest, Shri A.J. Sangma, MPS, DSP, in his address, urged the youth and the public to stay away from drug usage and appealed to everyone to cooperate in eradicating the menace from society. He also emphasized the need to support and help those affected by drug addiction instead of stigmatizing them, encouraging society to guide them back toward a better life. He also encouraged continuous efforts in conducting awareness programmes from time to time so that school-going children may learn about the ill effects of drugs from an early age. He stressed that the message “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life” should be instilled in each and every individual so that society may live in peace and build a better future for all
