District Coordinator in the Office of the District School Education Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, Smti Nevy Mary Dkhar, in her speech, highlighted the Government of India’s efforts over the past 32 years to encourage students to understand and explore science rather than merely memorise scientific concepts. She also emphasised the significance of the theme, “Science and Innovation for Sustainability,” and explained the concept of sustainability to the students. She stated that while everyone aspires to witness development, development at the cost of the environment cannot be considered true development, but rather leads to destruction.
