Title: Training on Co-operative Audit, Accounts and Computerisation of PACS held at Amlarem

The programme began with a welcome address by Shri W. Pariat, Sub-Registrar of Co-operative Societies (SRCS), Amlarem, who welcomed the resource persons and participants.
Shri S. T. Blah, Senior Co-operative Officer, highlighted the importance of proper accounting and financial record-keeping in ensuring transparency, accountability and efficient management of Co-operative Societies. He also explained that maintaining proper accounts, receipts, vouchers, bank statements and audit reports is essential for Societies to avail themselves of various Government schemes and grants.
He further explained basic accounting concepts such as Income, Assets, Debit and Credit, and their importance in the effective management and growth of Co-operative Societies.
Speaking on PACS Computerisation, Miss Nisha Suchiang, System Integrator for PACS Computerisation, BASIN, Jowai, explained the transition from manual record-keeping to a digital system through computerisation. She emphasised that the use of computer-based systems will help improve efficiency, accuracy and the management of records while reducing errors.
The programme also highlighted the importance of maintaining proper audit records and ensuring essential infrastructure such as electricity and internet connectivity for the successful implementation of PACS Computerisation.
