The Hon’ble Court of Shri B. Laitmon, Addl. D.C (Judicial), East Khasi Hills, Shillong vide Judgment/Court Order Dated 29/07/2026 convicted the accused, Shri Stephan Khongtim of Session Case No. 19(T)2023/ Sohra P.S Case No. 08(03)2023 u/s 307/326 IPC. The accused is sentenced to 5 (five) years rigorous imprisonment with fine of ₹ 20,000/- for an offence u/s 307 IPC and in default of payment of fine, further simple imprisonment for 2 (two) months. The accused is also sentenced 2 (two) years rigorous imprisonment with fine of ₹ 5000/- for an offence u/s 326 IPC and in default of payment of fine, further simple imprisonment for 1 (one) month. The convict has already undergone a period of 2 (two) years, 5 (five) months, and 16 (sixteen) days of imprisonment. He shall therefore serve the remaining sentence of 2 (two) years, 1 (one) month and 20 (twenty) days in jail
