Title: Sensitization of Faith-Based Organisations on Integrated Health Campaign Organized in East Jaintia Hills District
Press Release Number:
08/07/2026
Description:
Addressing the gathering, Assistant Commissioner, Smti F. Wann, MCS sought the active cooperation of religious leaders in educating and mobilising communities on the importance of the Integrated Health Campaign. She highlighted the vital role that faith-based organisations can play in creating awareness, reducing stigma associated with HIV, and encouraging individuals to voluntarily know their HIV status through testing. She also invited suggestions from the participants to further strengthen the campaign and ensure its effective implementation across the district.
The meeting also deliberated on the role of religious leaders in supporting public health initiatives, the objectives of the Integrated Health Campaign, and strategies to encourage community members to voluntarily come forward for HIV testing, thereby contributing to the collective efforts to curb the spread of HIV in the district.
The three-month Integrated Health Campaign is scheduled to be conducted in various identified villages across the district from July to September 2026
