The campaign aims to ensure that every child below five years of age receives the oral polio vaccine. The initiative was launched following reports indicating that Mawthong village and its neighbouring villages recorded low polio immunization coverage in previous years. The intensified campaign seeks to achieve full immunization coverage and protect all eligible children against polio.

The campaign was formally inaugurated by Shri. I. Lawriniang, MCS, Block Development Officer, Mawkyrwat C&RD Block, who also administered the polio vaccine to children. Addressing the gathering, he strongly urged parents and guardians to bring all children below the age of five to receive the polio vaccine, emphasizing that immunization is essential to ensure every child enjoys good health and protection from preventable diseases
