Addressing the gathering, Shri D.P. Wahlang shared his rich administrative experiences and perspectives on training and capacity building in public service. He emphasized that training programmes should focus on simplifying governance processes, improving efficiency, and making learning practical, relatable, and outcome-oriented for Government officials. He highlighted the important role played by MATI in strengthening administrative competencies and promoting continuous learning among Government employees across the State.

The Chief Guest also stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance in public service. He observed that effective governance not only depends on professional competence and discipline, but also on the well-being, mental balance, and personal growth of employees. He encouraged officials to continuously learn, adapt, and maintain balance in both professional and personal life to enhance productivity and workplace satisfaction. He also mentioned the need to start MATI Tura Centre to cater to the training needs of Government officials from the Garo Hills Region
