Title: Conviction and Sentencing in Criminal Cases under POCSO Act and IPC in East Jaintia Hills District

Description:
After completion of trial, the Hon’ble Court of Smti. B. Khriam, Special Judge (POCSO), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat has found Shri Emlang Dkhar guilty, and convicted him under Section 18/5(n) POCSO Act, 2012, R/w Section 506 IPC. The Hon’ble Court has sentenced him to undergo “Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for 10 (Ten) years with fine of ₹25,000/- (Twenty five Thousands only)” vide Order dated 22.04.2026.
After completion of the trial, the Hon’ble Court of Smti. B. Khriam, District and Sessions Judge (DSJ), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat has found Shri Sweet Phawa @ Koi guilty, and convicted him U/S 376(1) IPC, 506 Part-II IPC and 392 IPC. The Hon’ble Court has sentenced him to undergo “Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for 20 (Twenty) years with fine of ₹60,000/- (Sixty Thousands only)” vide Order dated 24.04.2026.
