This directive follows a communication from the National Health Mission, Meghalaya, highlighting a measles outbreak in neighbouring Bangladesh and the increased risk to border districts. In view of the situation, all departments have been urged to remain vigilant and ensure prompt action to prevent any potential spread of the disease.

All cases of fever accompanied by rash, across any age group, are to be treated as suspected measles and must be reported immediately to the nearest health facility, ANM or Medical Officer for timely intervention.

The Education Department and ICDS functionaries have been specifically instructed to ensure immediate reporting of such cases identified in schools and Anganwadi Centres. Close coordination with the Health Department and relevant agencies has also been emphasized to facilitate swift investigation and response
