Title: West Jaintia Hills District Hosts Inter-School Athletic Meet 2026 at Wahiajer Sports Complex

The Inter School Athletic Meet was inaugurated by District School Education Officer Dr. (Mrs) Wa-i-Sa Sumer, who declared the Meet open. Miss Peaceful Pohplet, the Best Athlete of 2024-25 and a student from North Liberty HS School, Jowai, led the oath-taking ceremony on behalf of all the participants.
In her address, Dr. Sumer emphasised that sport plays a vital role in the holistic development of youth, stating that participation in sports fosters not only physical fitness but also their discipline and teamwork. She encouraged the athletes to give their best, noting that while victories come through perseverance, the memories and lesson gained through participation remains forever
