The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) today located and retrieved the body of Agriculture Officer Teseng M. Sangma from Banseng Wari which is located in the downstream area of the Ganol River. Re-commencing their operations early in the morning, the SDRF faced immense challenge to retrieve the body of the deceased officer despite locating it as it was lodged between river boulders and the strong currents posed a risk to the personnel. However, the body was finally extricated from the river by guiding its passage downstream using ropes, from where it was then brought to the shore. Director of Civil Defence, Meghalaya, Shri. M. K. Sangma was also actively involved on site and supervised the retrieval of the body by the SDRF personnel. It may be stated that the body of the deceased officer was located from the downstream area of Ganol River after four days of SAR operations by SDRF, other agencies and local volunteers
