The observance began with the Swacchata Pledge administered by the Head of Region on 16th May. This was followed by a Health Talk on Ergonomics and Lower Back Pain, aimed at employee well-being. A notable Shramdaan activity saw employees cleaning the weekly market area near the Kahilipara powerhouse main road. Both centres undertook a plantation drive. In Shillong, employees visited Nongrah Presbyterian School, where plantation was carried out in collaboration with the school authorities. In Guwahati, employees visited the BDS School for the Hearing Impaired at Kahilipara. NERLDC gifted 10 lemon saplings to the school, which were planted by the students with help from their teachers. The children expressed joy at nurturing the plants and watching them grow and bear fruit
