Title: West Garo Hills Police observes Commemoration Day at Tura

West Garo Hills District Police solemnly observed Police Commemoration Day on Wednesday at the Martyrs Memorial, Police Reserve, Tura, paying rich tributes to the brave police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty for the nation. This year, a total of 154 martyrs from across the country were honoured for their selfless service over the past year.
The solemn occasion was graced by Shri J.F.K. Marak, IPS, DIG (Western Range, Tura), in the presence of Shri Abraham T. Sangma, SP, Tura and other senior officials, Sub-Inspectors, and personnel of various ranks.
As part of the observance, DIG Shri J.F.K. Marak placed the sacred Martyr’s Booklet at the memorial, after which SP Shri Abraham T. Sangma read out the Roll of Honour containing the names of the 154 fallen heroes. Later this, the dignitaries and departmental officials laid floral wreaths at the monument as a mark of respect, which was followed by a traditional, somber Shok Parade held in honour of the bravehearts
