The Hon'ble Chief Minister, Meghalaya highlighted the challenges faced by the State Government in rendering services to the citizens of Meghalaya due to unreliable internet connectivity as the region has a unique topography. Meghalaya is located in the North-eastern part of the country and any successful pilot of Starlink in this region will ensure wider acceptability of the technology. He expressed optimism that this collaboration with Starlink will usher in a new pathway for development and enhance digital connectivity in order to support key sectors such as education, healthcare, aspirational district inclusion, security and disaster management and economic development in the State. The initiative promises to bridge the digital divide, foster inclusive growth, and unlock new opportunities for communities across Meghalaya paving the way for a more connected, empowered, and future-ready society
