The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District, in its continued drive against illicit liquor, conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of May 2025 detected 8 cases with a seizure of 36.125 litres of i/d liquor and 33.220 litres IMFL. In this connection 4 persons have been arrested under Excise Act
