Description:
Now, therefore, I, Smti. H. M. L. Kynta, MCS, I/c District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 163 BNSS, do hereby restrain:
(i) Illegal mining and quarrying in hill slopes; and
(ii) Removal of sand from river beds by any person, company, or authority without obtaining valid Mining Licence/Quarry Permit and requisite clearance certificates from the competent authority(s).
In view of the urgency, this order is passed ex-parte and shall come into force with immediate effect throughout East Khasi Hills District until further orders
(i) Illegal mining and quarrying in hill slopes; and
(ii) Removal of sand from river beds by any person, company, or authority without obtaining valid Mining Licence/Quarry Permit and requisite clearance certificates from the competent authority(s).
