As per the order, the State Government has directed mandatory registration of all Private Coaching Centres and the adoption of student protection norms with effective grievance redressal mechanisms.

These rules have been framed in compliance with the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLP (Crl) No(s). 6378 of 2024 titled Sukdeb Saha v. The State of Andhra Pradesh & Ors., vide Judgment dated 25th July, 2025.

The notified rules provide for the registration and regulation of all Private Coaching Centres operating within the State, both in online and offline modes. The rules further lay down provisions aimed at ensuring the welfare and protection of students, as well as the establishment of structured grievance redressal mechanisms.

All interested Private Coaching Centres under East Khasi Hills District are hereby required to register themselves with the Education Department in accordance with the provisions of the said rules.
