Title: East Khasi Hills Police Secure Conviction in decade-old Sadar Police Station Case

On 22nd October, 2026, the Hon’ble Court of Shri B. Laitmon, District and Session Judge, East Khasi Hills, Shillong vide Judgment/Court Order dated 22/10/2026 convicted the accused, Shri Charles Marbaniang of Session Case No. 33 of 2016 arising out of Sadar P.S Case No. 174(10)2012 u/s 304 Part-I IPC.
The accused had already undergone 1 month and 29 days in imprisonment. He shall therefore serve the remaining sentence of 4 years, 10 months and 1 day with a fine of ₹ 30,000/- for an offence u/s 304 Part I IPC and in default of payment of fine, further simple imprisonment of 3 (three) months
