Title: POCSO Case: Accused Convicted, Sentenced to 20 Years Rigorous Imprisonment

Description:
On 16th September, 2026, the Hon'ble Court of Smti. R. Rymbai, MHJS, Spl. Judge (POCSO), East Khasi Hills, Shillong vide Judgment/Court Order dated 16/09/2026 convicted the accused, Shri Pyntngenlang Nongsiej of Spl. (POCSO) Case No. 21 of 2022 arising out of Lumdiengjri P.S Case No. 35(3)2020 u/s 4/8 POCSO Act. The accused is sentenced to 20 (twenty) years rigorous imprisonment with fine of ₹ 10,000/- for an offence u/s 6 of POCSO Act and in default of payment of fine, further rigorous imprisonment for 6 (six) months.
The convict has already undergone a period of 9 (nine) months and 4 (four) days of imprisonment. He shall therefore serve the remaining sentence in jail
