Title: Legal Awareness Programme on Women's Rights and Child Protection Laws Held at Khliehriat Market, East Jaintia Hills District

Deputy Legal Aid Defence Counsel, District Legal Services Authority (DSLA), East Jaintia Hills District, Smti. R. Lyngdoh, attended the programme as a resource person.
In her address, Smti. Lyngdoh elaborated on the objectives and salient provisions of the above acts, highlighting the legal rights and protections available to women and children. She also explained the penalties prescribed under the law and also stressed the importance of promptly reporting cases of domestic violence, child sexual abuse, trafficking and other forms of exploitation.
Smti. Lyngdoh also sensitized members of the public on their rights and legal remedies under these acts, emphasizing the need to create a safe and supportive environment for women and children. She also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant, uphold the dignity and rights of vulnerable sections of society and actively support efforts to prevent violence and exploitation
