During the programme, the resource persons highlighted the significance and objectives of the Meghalaya Right to Public Services Act, 2020, which aims to ensure the timely, transparent and accountable delivery of notified public services to citizens.
They also elaborated on the key provisions of the Act, including the roles and responsibilities of designated public servants, the prescribed timelines for the delivery of notified services and the grievance redressal mechanism available to citizens in the event of delays or denial of services.
The participants were further sensitised on the importance of ensuring effective implementation of the Act in their respective departments to facilitate improved public service delivery and strengthen accountability within the government. Participants also sought clarifications and shared their views on the practical aspects of implementing the provisions of the Act
