Smti. R.M. Kurbah, IAS, District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under Section 163 BNSS do hereby prohibit deliberate burning of fires and unattended burning of forests that have the potential to cause wild/forest fires and thereby damage cause to environment, property and resultant loss of lives. Any violation to this Order shall be prosecuted under Section 223 of the BNS. In view of the urgency of the situation, this order has been passed exparte and it shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force until further orders
